Last week, Nancy Kirwin and I hosted our 5th Wine, Women & Shopping event to celebrate sisterhood and help support My Sisters’ Place.  We had more than 500 women attend to shop, sample wine (and beer this year), enjoy a gourmet dinner, and listen to the healing sounds of drumming by the women of this transitional support centre.

 

Every year, we are overwhelmed and thankful by the outpouring of community support.  And we are humbled that our peers have nominated us for two awards – the 2011 Pillar Community Innovation Community Leadership Award and the Prime Minister’s Volunteer Award for Community Leader.

 

We’re still in the midst of tallying our results to see how much we’ll be donating…and in the meantime, we still have some handcrafted Tree of Life necklaces and pins to sell.  The funds will go directly to this worthy cause.

 

Thank you for your support over the past year…all the best for the holiday season and wishing you a healthy, prosperous 2012.
