I’ve talked to several people lately who are feeling the January Blah’s.  They would rather hole up at home – or in their home offices – rather than go out to an organized “meet ‘n greet.”  These past few days, I’ve actually felt the same way (and so has other members of our family, including Riley and Franklin).

Studies have shown that this is a normal effect for January with lack of sunshine and gloomy weather all around – at least in our neck of the woods. So if you’re feeling this way, first of all you’re not alone.  And secondly, get over it and move on quickly.  Ask a friend for lunch (I had a great lunch with my amazing Web master, Jayme Cousins, In House Logic, to celebrate his birthday last week…and it was just the ticket needed to get back into the groove of networking.  Happy birthday, Jayme, and thank you!)

This is the perfect time to call past clients, friends you haven’t seen in a while, and generally re-connect with the world.  Only a few minutes on the phone could brighten someone’s day…and give you the opportunity to share what’s new in your world.  Or take it a step further and send a “just thinking of you” card.  And don’t forget to get out there and network.  There are many opportunities.  Check out our Networking Group directory for your area…and if your group is not listed, click the Promote Your Group button on the Home page to add it.  The listing is free.
