Publisher's Notes June 2009
Finally, June is here and with it is my favourite time of year, SUMMER. I love being able to simply get up and go without coats and boots and being able to spend time in my tranquil gardens. It’s a great place to sit, listen to the cascading waterfall, and find inspiration for new projects.
Last week I spent an entire day with Dan Poynter, publishing guru and author of 122 books. It was an amazing opportunity to network with like-minded writers and speakers while gaining valuable insights and practical tips to help us further our writing projects. If you’re thinking about writing and/or publishing a non fiction book, check out www.parapublishing.com to get the latest scoop on the publishing industry.
And I’m taking my networking skills to a new location – the golf course. The game is relatively new to me and members of my networking group have signed up to take lessons so we can “get in the swing of things” much more accurately. What a great way to kick off the season and get to know each other better in a non-business venue. Give it a try. Ask the members of your networking group if they’d like to take golf, tennis, or any other type of lesson to mix things up and see each other in a new light. The possibilities are endless.

P.S. Don’t forget about our upcoming charity event, An Evening of Wine, Jazz & Reality to help support FACE IT. Dr. Annette Richard started this free program to help those facing the reality of a breast cancer diagnosis. Dr. Richard ensures individuals get accurate information and emotional support plus specialized tools not available elsewhere. Our awareness fundraiser will be held from 4 PM to 9 PM at the Carolinian Winery, London, Ontario and includes free wine sampling, gourmet food sampling, delectable desserts, and soothing jazz entertainment. Tickets are only $35.00 each or two for $60.00. Email me for more details.
