Summertime Networking
Staying in touch during summer months with the members of your networking groups can be a difficult task. Kids off school, vacations, and nice weather seemed to keep people away from regular networking events.
So how can you make sure your summertime networking pace and you don't lose touch with those connections you work so hard to build?
Connect via other means such as social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) or commenting on their blog posts are just a couple simple ways to stay in touch.
Make sure you check your e-mail regularly during the summertime and respond in a timely fashion. If you're going to be away for a period of time consider adding an autoresponse to your e-mail telling people when you will get back to them.
Summer is a great time to get caught up sending cards to tell people you appreciate their business during the year. When the kids are playing in the yard or at the park take the time to write those important cards that will go a mile in regards to your relationship building.
Make sure you schedule at least a couple of networking events during the summer for two reasons: to keep in contact on a personal level and to give you a break from the busy summer schedule.
Staying in touch during the summertime pays; and you won't have to start to building contacts all over in the fall when you start networking again.
